How to Enable Captions for the Samsung HD LED
By William Pullman
Samsung HD LED televisions have caption options, which display on the screen a text version of the audio from a program. Captions allow people with hearing disabilities to enjoy television programming. They are also helpful if you're having a hard time understanding dialogue or narration. The caption feature is enabled through the television's menu system, though there are restrictions. HDMI, component and PC inputs do not support captions, and not all channels support captioning.
Press the "Menu" button on the remote control to open the main menu.
Press the arrow buttons to highlight "Support" and then press "Enter."
Highlight "Caption" using the arrow buttons and press "Enter."
Press the up or down arrow buttons to change the Caption setting from "Off" to "On."
Push "Enter" to save the setting, and then press "Exit" to close the menu.
- If you are using an HDMI, component or PC input, you can still use captioning by turning it on from the external device, such as a cable box, that is connected to the television.
