How to Eject the CD on a Dell XPS M1530

by Dave Wilson

The Dell XPS M1530 is a feature-rich, high-performance laptop designed for multimedia such as playing movies and music from a CD, DVD or over the Internet. After inserting a CD or DVD disc into the computer CD/DVD drive, the computer will "Auto Play" the CD's or DVD's contents using the default media program. However, the default media player program will not always eject the CD or DVD once the content has stopped playing. Use the CD/DVD drive context menu in Windows to eject a CD or DVD when finished playing.

Eject the CD Using the Windows Operating System

Click the "Start" button on the Microsoft Windows 7 computer desktop taskbar.

Click the "Computer" icon in the menu that appears. The "Computer" window will display.

Right-click on the CD/DVD icon in the "Computer" window, and click "Eject" in the context menu that appears.

Press the CD/DVD Drive Eject Button

Locate the CD/DVD drive "Eject" button located just above the keyboard in the "Center-control" cover area.

Press the CD/DVD "Eject" button firmly, and then release the button.

Wait and listen for the CD/DVD drive to spin down and make a clicking noise prior to ejecting the disc.
