How to Get Ebooks for the Ematic Ebook Reader

The Ematic Ebook Reader allows users to view text files. This portable device reads a large variety of ebook formats but won't read AZW, which is designed for the Amazon Kindle, OPF, LIT, DNL, PKG and a few other formats. There are several sources that offer ebooks that are in a compatible format. Once you have gathered files that are compatible, you can download the ebooks to your device.

Get PDF and EPUB Ebooks

Step 1

Find ebooks to download for a fee or free online. Websites such as PlanetPDF, Ebooks, EPubBooks or Project Gutenberg all offer ebooks that are compatible with the Ematic Ebook Reader.

Step 2

Click on an ebook category such as Free, Fiction or Nonfiction and browse the selection of ebooks.

Step 3

Click on the book title to review the description and price. If the ebook is available for free download, no price will be listed.

Step 4

Choose the ebook format that you want to download; some websites offer more than one format. On, for example, users can select from EPUB, PDF and MOBI formats. Project Gutenberg offers ebooks formatted in HTML, EPUB and a variety of other formats. The Ematic can read ebooks files formatted in TXT, FB2, HTML, DOC, PDB, PDF or EPUB. Click the "Buy Now," or other comparable button to check out. Enter your debit or credit into the corresponding fields to complete the purchase. The website will then display the download link: Click on the link and follow the prompts to download the file to your computer. For free ebooks, just click on the download link and save the file to the computer.

Download EBooks to the Ematic Ebook Reader

Step 1

Connect the Ematic Ebook Reader to the PC with its USB cable. The Ebook Reader's USB port is located on the bottom of the device.

Step 2

Click on the desktop "Start" button. Select "Computer" or "My Computer" from the Start menu.

Step 3

Double-click to open the Removable Disk folder that represents the connected Ematic Ebook Reader.

Drag the document or ebook file stored on the computer with the mouse, and drop it into the Ematic drive folder. Disconnect the device from the computer to view the ebooks.
