How to Download Music From a CD to a Mac Computer
By K.C. Winslow
Importing music from a CD into a computer library means that you never have to risk losing or scratching a CD. It also offers you the opportunity to create custom play lists and CDs from your favorite music. The iTunes music manager, an application integrated into the Mac OS X operating system, allows you to download, or import, music from a CD.
Load the CD into your computer’s CD or DVD drive. A pop-up window asks if you want to show the CD in the Finder, play it in iTunes or import the CD.
Click “Import CD.” The CD tracks will automatically begin importing into iTunes.
Click the “Eject” icon next to the CD in the panel on the left side of the iTunes window to eject the CD after all tracks have been imported.
