How to Download eBooks to an iPad

by Jason Taetsch

The iPad personal media tablet released by Apple features support for numerous applications, including an eBook reader. Once you've got the iBook store app installed on your iPad, you can download eBooks directly to your iPad's hard drive and enjoy them wherever you go. With just a few taps of the screen, you can be reading your favorite authors in no time.

Tap the "App Store" icon on your iPad's touch screen to open the App Store interface.

Tap the "Free Apps" category and press the entry for "iBooks" to download the eBook reader to the iPad.

Tap the "iBooks" icon once the download is complete to display your "Bookshelf." Press the "Store" button on the upper left side corner of the screen to open the iBookstore.

Tap a book you want to download and select a payment method. Tap "Download" and it will appear on your "Bookshelf" screen.
