How to Do a Startup Repair in Windows 7

by Bobson St. Pierre

The latest Windows operating system, Windows 7, is a big improvement on previous Windows versions. It's packed with more stability, scalability and security, including many new tools for maintaining and repairing Windows in the event of problems. One of these great tools is the Startup Repair recovery tool. The Startup Repair tool is a system recovery tool that can find problems with the system on starup and fix those problems. The tool can be accessed from the Windows 7 OS disk and used during the Windows boot process.

Insert your Windows 7 OS disc in your CD/DVD drive and restart your computer.

Hold down the "F8" key on your keyboard while the computer boots. This will open the "Advanced boot options" screen.

Choose "Repair my computer" and press "Enter." The "System Recovery Options" screen opens.

Select "Startup Repair" and click "Next." The Startup Repair tool is now scanning your computer for startup problems; if any are found it will go ahead and repair them.
