How Do I Flash an LG Phone?
By Melanie Fleury
The LG is a smartphone available from Verizon Wireless. Verizon is the largest CDMA network available. In most cases, Verizon is the best choice for a carrier when you want the LG, however, there are some CDMA carriers that are less expensive that you may want to switch too. The process of switching your phone from one provider to another is called "flashing" and is relatively easy to do.
Drive to a location of the new carrier that you want to flash over to. Ask the representative at the store location to flash your phone over to the new carrier.
Purchase your own cell phone unlocking equipment. Equipment exists for the latest LG models, including the KF390, KH1200 Cyon, CT810, CT815, GT810, GM630, GM730, GM735, GM750 and GD330 phones.
Pay an unlocking website to unlock your phone. Just provide the IMEI number.
- There may be a slight charge to flashing your phone over.
- Flashing can cause your LG to lose information. Make sure that you have information such as phone numbers written down or stored elsewhere.
