Tips
Always remember to delete all phone numbers, pictures, text messages and other personal information from your TracFone before getting rid of it.
Whether you simply no longer have a need for your TracFone or you have transferred your phone number to a different cellphone provider, you may find yourself needing to get rid of the phone. Recycle your phone instead of throwing it in the trash and having it end up in a landfill.
Drop off your unwanted cellphone at an electronics recycling facility. Drop-off boxes can typically be found in office supply stores and home improvement stores. Most cellphone stores also have drop-off boxes for unwanted phones.
Donate your TracFone. Agencies such as Call to Protect provide cellphones with an emergency dialing option to victims of domestic abuse so that they may call 911 in case of an emergency. Cell Phones for Soldiers accepts donated cellphones, then recycles the phones and uses profits to purchase prepaid phone cards for soldiers.
Sell your TracFone to a friend or family member.
