Displaying a Slideshow in SharePoint

Display SharePoint picture gallery images as a slideshow.

The Microsoft SharePoint document management and business collaboration program includes a picture library function that you can use to store and share images with other people in your organization. After uploading images to the library, you can view them in a number of different ways, including as a slideshow. Use the "Slides" command in the SharePoint picture library's Manage Views section to view large or full-size versions of your stored images as a slideshow.

Launch SharePoint. Navigate to the site that contains the picture library that you want to view as a slideshow.

Click the name of the picture library in the Recent section of the Quick Launch menu. Alternatively, click "Site Contents," and then click to select the picture library title.

Click the "Library" tab on the main menu ribbon.

Click the "Current View" menu in the Manage Views group, and then select "Slides" from the drop-down list of options to open the picture library as a slideshow on the screen.

Click on the screen to advance through the picture library slideshow.


In addition to viewing pictures in the library as a slideshow, the program also allows you to insert a picture library slideshow into a page on a SharePoint site. Select "Picture Library Slideshow Web Part" from the "Insert" menu, and then control the slideshow picture order and display duration from the "Options" menu.
