Turning off the voicemail on your Nokia mobile phone enables you to skip the intrusive notifications and will deter callers who leave multiple messages after calling repeatedly. Since voicemail is provided by your carrier and not by your actual phone, you must deal with your mobile service provider to get your voicemail turned off. Once it's turned off, you won't be able to receive any voicemail messages at all until you enable the service through your provider again.

Step 1

Dial customer service for your mobile provider. Press "611" on your Nokia if your provider is AT&T or T-Mobile. Press "611" if your provider is Verizon. Press "2" if Sprint is your provider.

Step 2

Follow the steps to reach a customer service representative.

Step 3

Verify your identity by providing the requested information. This enables the customer service representative to open your account.

Step 4

Explain that you want your voicemail disabled. Follow the representative's instructions to complete the process.
