Google Chrome is a widely used Web browser. It was first released as a beta version in 2008, and in the same year the stable version was released for public use. Google has certain default privacy settings in the browser, such as the phishing and malware protection, but if you would like to tweak these settings for any particular reason, you can change them using Google Chrome's settings menu.

Step 1

Open the Google Chrome browser and click on the settings icon that looks like a wrench on the top-right corner of the browser window.

Step 2

Scroll down on the menu and click on "Options."

Step 3

Select "Under the Hood" from the "Chrome Options" screen.

Uncheck the box next to "Enable phishing and malware protection." Close the window.
