How to Delete Pictures on Sony Cyber-shot Cameras
By Jacob Michael
Running out of storage space on your camera in the middle of a trip or event is disruptive, so it’s always useful to keep a spare memory card around for a situation like that. If you don’t have one or you’ve already filled up your spares, delete some pictures if you need to free up valuable storage space. Using the Sony Cyber-shot’s preview screen, you can hand-pick photos to delete and keep the rest.
Step 1
Press the “Playback” button on the camera. If you want to see thumbnails of your photos in a grid, press the “Index” button to switch to index mode.
Step 2
Use the directional pad to select the image you want to delete.
Step 3
Press the “Menu” button, select “Delete” from the menu and press the circle button.
Step 4
Select “This Image,” select “OK” and press the circle button to delete the image. Select “All in this Folder” to delete all images in the currently selected directory, select “OK” and press the circle button. If you want to delete several images at once, select “Multiple Images” and press the circle button to display an index of images on the camera. Select the images you want to delete and press the circle button to add them to the deletion queue. When you’re finished selecting images, press the “Menu” button, select “OK” and press the circle button.
