How to Delete AOL From Internet Explorer
By Erika Dean
America Online (AOL) has a toolbar that you can add to your Internet browser. If you added AOL to Internet Explorer, you have access to the AOL search engine and AOL email. If you no longer have any use for this toolbar and want to remove AOL from Internet Explorer, it takes little time to do so.
Open the Internet Explorer browser and click the "Tools" button from the Internet Explorer menu at the top of the page.
Select "Manage Add-ons" from the drop-down menu. A window will open that shows a list of all of the add-ons you have for Internet Explorer.
Scroll through the list of add-ons and select "AOL Toolbar."
Click the "Disable" button to remove AOL from Internet Explorer. Verify that you want to remove AOL from the box that opens. AOL will no longer appear on Internet Explorer.
- After you remove AOL from Internet Explorer, you may want to delete it from your computer as well. Open the Control Panel and select "Add or Remove Programs" (Windows XP) or "Programs and Features" (Windows 7 and Vista). Select "AOL Toolbar" when the programs list open and click "Remove." This will save a little space on your hard drive.
