How to Create Free Yahoo Avatars

An avatar is a small graphic representation of a computer user for use in such places as a forum, chat room or messenger. It can be a real picture or a created image. Yahoo! offers the biggest free selections of categories to choose from to make your personal avatar. Yahoo! is widely used by people worldwide to send emails and chat where you can display your Yahoo! avatar.
Step 1
Open your Web browser and go to the Yahoo! Avatars website (see References for link).
Step 2
Sign up to be a registered member, if needed. Fill out all the required personal information. Read the Yahoo! Terms of Service and Private Policy. If you agree, check the box and click "Create My Account."
Step 3
Log in by entering your Yahoo! ID and password, then click the "Sign In" button. Choose your gender and click "Create my Avatar" link.
Step 4
Read the instructions provided to give you an idea on how to do it. When finished, go to the "Appearance" link to create a new look and choose your skin color. You can see how you look each time you make changes.

Browse the selections for face and eyes and choose the image you like. You can change the color of the eyes by clicking the small color palette beside the image.

Go to "Hairstyles" and browse until you find an image with the hairstyle you want. You can also change your hair color by clicking the small color palette next to the image.
Step 7
Click the "Apparel" link and browse the selections given. Customize your free Yahoo! avatar by clicking the outfit you want from either "Full Outfit" or "Tops" and "Bottoms" categories. You can also choose from the "Plus Sizes" option if you like.
Step 8
Check the "Extras" and browse the categories under it. Click the images you want in each category.
Step 9
Browse selections for your avatar background and check the options under "Branded." Select the pictures you want from these categories.
Step 10
Click "Save Changes" and "Add to Favorites" when you like what you created. Decide a name for your avatar and click "Add." Pan and zoom your created avatar by clicking the plus and minus signs as well as using the arrow buttons. Click "Save Changes" and "Add to Favorites." You can save up to 12 avatars as your favorites. Click the "Sign Out" link when finished.
