How to Create a Bracket in Excel
By Lyan Uaha
Microsoft Excel 2007 allows you to create tournament brackets in the Excel spreadsheet. Tournament brackets are a popular way of showing the layout of teams in a sports tournament and the outcome of their games. You will have to download the tournament bracket template from the Microsoft Office website for this purpose. The template is like an add-on that can be used in Excel. There are many pre-created tournament bracket templates available on the Microsoft Office website that can be downloaded and used free of cost.
Navigate to the tournament brackets download website.
Point and hold your mouse pointer on the tournament bracket that you want to download and then click "Download."
Click the "Accept" button on the Microsoft Service Agreement webpage that opens.
Click the "Download" button on the Download your file(s) manually webpage.
Navigate to the location on your computer where you want to save the tournament bracket on the dialog box that opens and then click "Save."
Right-click the downloaded file, point to "Open with" and then click "Windows Explorer."
Double-click the ".xlt" file in the Windows Explorer window. The downloaded tournament bracket template will open in Excel.
