How to Convert VSD to PDF

by Jamie Lisse

If you have some Microsoft Visio files in VSD format that you need to have in PDF, you can actually convert your VSD files to PDF. While there are a number of converter programs with free trials that do the VSD to PDF conversion, you can actually do the conversion online for free with Zamzar. Zamzar is an online file conversion website that will let you upload your files for conversion and then convert them for you for free.

Launch your web browser. Go to the Zamzar website (see Resources) to prepare to convert your VSD files to PDF.

Scroll down until you see the area of the Zamzar site that has three tabs. These tabs are your conversion options for the input file. Choose from Convert Files, Download Videos and Manage Files. Since you want to convert VSD to PDF, you will need to be on the Convert Files tab, which is the default tab.

Go to the "Step 1" part of the tab. Click on the "Browse" button to select the VSD file that you want to convert. You can only convert one file at a time with Zamzar.

Go to the "Step 2" part of the tab. Use the drop-down menu to select "PDF" as the output format for your file conversion.

Go to the "Step 3" part of the tab. Enter in a contact email address. This is how Zamzar will contact you to let you know that your file has converted.

Go to the "Step 4" part of the tab. Click the "Convert" button to start the conversion. It can take up to 24 hours for your file to convert, depending on the amount of traffic and requests that Zamzar is getting. Once the file has completed conversion, you will get an email from Zamzar with a link to go to so that you can download your new PDF file.
