SES files are exclusively used with the audio editing programs Adobe Audition and Cool Edit Pro. SES files are created when an Audition session is saved and are not audio files like MP3 or WAV files. Instead, they are used to save audio editing and mixing information in an Audition session. Thankfully, Audition can be used to create MP3 mix-downs of SES files, as long as the audio files that were edited in Audition are also on your computer.

Step 1

Download Adobe Audition or Cool Edit Pro, which is the older version of Audition. Install the program by following the installation prompts.

Step 2

Start Audition and open your SES file by selecting the "File" menu and selecting "Open Session..."

Step 3

Find the SES file by browsing through your computer's folders. Select the SES file and click "OK."

Step 4

Enter the "File" menu and select "Save Mixdown As..." Select the "Save as type" option and choose ".mp3." Create a file name for the MP3 and click "Save."

Step 5

Listen to your new converted MP3 file and add it to your media player library or MP3 player.
