PHC and PES files are both computer-assisted manufacturing --- CAM --- files used as image templates for Brother embroidery machines. The PES file will also work with machines made by the Babylock and Bernina companies. To use a PHC file on one of these machines, you'll need to convert it to PES. Only one program can read PHC files, but the free trial download will be sufficient to convert it to the more-compatible PES.

Step 1

Download and install Embird Basic.

Step 2

Open Embird.

Step 3

Select "Open" from the File menu. Select the PHC to convert, and then click "Open."

Step 4

Select "Save As" from the File menu.

Click "PE-Design Software (*.pes)" next to "Save file as..." and click "Save."
