PAL is a video format that is typically used for digitalized videos online. If you have PAL videos and you want to put them on a DVD, you will need a video converter to change the video from PAL to NTSC. The fastest way to convert the video is with a freeware program called Handbrake. Handbrake is a DVD and video ripper that allows users to covert videos into different formats to use on their computer and burning software applications. `

Step 1

Download the Handbrake transcoder from Handbrake.fr.

Step 2

Double click on the software to launch the program.

Step 3

Click on the “Source” tab and find your PAL video on your computer. Highlight your video and click the “OK” tab.

Step 4

Wait for the software to scan your video. A small text box will say “Finished” when it is done scanning.

Step 5

Go down to the “Destination” tab and click the “Browse” button. Select your Desktop from the choices given.

Step 6

Go down under the “Output Settings” tab and click on the small window. Select “NTSC” from the choices given.

Step 7

Click on the “Video Codec” tab and select MPEG-4 as your video codec.

Step 8

Scroll over to the “Quality” tab and select the “Constant Quality” button. Drag the cursor all the way over till the quality is at 100%.

Step 9

Click on the “Start” button at the top of the software window and wait for the software to export your new NTSC video file to your Desktop.
