How to Convert a MHT Extension to PowerPoint
By Tammy Clevenger
A file extension of MHT indicates that the file is a Microsoft archived web page file. MHT is an acronym for Multipurpose Internet Mail Extension HTML. MHT files can be created in web authoring tools, or in Microsoft Word by saving a document as an MHT web page. To change the MHT file extension to a PowerPoint Presentation (PPT) file type, you'll need to convert the MHT file using the PowerPoint application and save it with the PPT file extension.
Step 1
Click the Windows “Start” button, and then click “All Programs.”
Step 2
Click the "Microsoft Office" folder to expand it.
Step 3
Click the "Microsoft PowerPoint" link to open the PowerPoint application.
Step 4
Click the "Microsoft Office" button located at the top left of the PowerPoint navigation ribbon.
Step 5
Select “Open” from the context menu.
Step 6
Navigate to the MHT file you want to import.
Step 7
Click the file to open it in PowerPoint.
Step 8
Click the "Microsoft Office" button, and then select the “Save As…” option.
Step 9
Select the “Microsoft PowerPoint (.ppt)” option from the drop-down menu.
Step 10
Type a name for the presentation in the text input box.
Step 11
Click the “Save” button. The MHT file extension has been converted into the PowerPoint file type.
