How to Convert Drw to Dxf
By David Gray
A .drw file is a drawing file saved in vector format, which uses lines instead of dots to form images. This is a file type common to several drawing programs. A .dxf file is an AutoCAD drawing file format meant to be compatible with other programs. The .drw file format can be converted to .dxf with the VaryView software application.
Download, install and launch VaryView. This program is compatible with Windows 98 to Vista. In addition to converting between .drw and .dxf formats, the program can view, convert and print many other types of vector image formats.
Open the .drw file you wish to convert.
Select "File > Save As" from the menu at the top of the program.
Change the selection in the "Save As Type" drop-down menu to the .dxf format, then click "Save".
- While several other programs, such as Blaze ImgConvert allegedly support the conversion between .drw and .dxf, the free trial version of the program is limited to a small number of output file types, and does not include .dxf.
