How to Convert DCF to MP4

by Bray Bell

The DCF file extension is a version of the Digital Rights Management content format, which is typically used by cell phone companies to protect and copyright digital files such as audio, images or videos. If you purchase a DCF file you will only be able to play it on the specified device it was intended for. In order to convert a DCF file to MP4 you will need to install audio converting software.

1

Open your audio converting software (see Resources).

2

Choose "Add File" or "Open File" and browse your computer for the DCF file you want to convert.

3

Click "Input Format" and choose "DCF" or "DRM Content Format." Some audio converting software can automatically detect the format of the file.

4

Click "Output Format" and choose "MP4" or "MPEG-4."

5

Choose a location you want the file to be exported to on your computer.

6

Click "OK" or "Convert Now" to begin the process.

Warning

  • These methods should not be used to remove DRM protection from any files for unauthorized redistribution.
