How to Control Your Samsung Blu-Ray Player With an iPad
By John Granby
It is possible to control some models of Samsung Blu-ray DVD players with an iOS application supplied by Samsung. If your Samsung player is connected to your home's network through Ethernet or Wi-Fi and has Smart Hub features, the Samsung SmartView application can connect and control the player. The setup is easy and all you need to do is download the application to your iPad, connect to your home Wi-Fi network and connect to your DVD player.
Connect Your DVD Player to Your Home Network
Step 1
Connect your DVD player to your home network using either an Ethernet cable or Wi-Fi, if your player has Wi-Fi capability.
Step 2
Access the DVD player network settings through the "Setting" menu option and press the "Enter" button on your remote.
Step 3
Select either "Wired" or "Wireless" depending on how you connected to your network. Follow the setup wizard to configure your player's access to your home network.
Use Samsung SmartView Application For Your iPad
Step 1
Launch the App Store on your iPad and search for "Samsung SmartView." Download the application, which is free, to your iPad.
Step 2
Connect your iPad to your home Wi-Fi network and launch the Samsung SmartView application. The application should automatically search your network for your Blu-ray player and show it to you in the list of devices.
Step 3
Tap the name of your player in the list from Step 2 to access the controls for the device.
