How to Control Brightness on a Sony WEGA
By Bennett Gavrish
Getting to the brightness controls is the most difficult aspect of adjusting the brightness on a Sony WEGA TV. Prior to 2005, Sony used the WEGA brand for its line of flat-screen, high-definition TVs. You can access a wide range of picture settings through the TV's main menu. Adjusting the brightness on your TV makes the screen either brighter or darker. This can be important if the lighting in your TV room is dim or bright.
Step 1
Turn on your Sony WEGA TV by pressing the "Power" button on the remote control or the front panel of the television.
Step 2
Press the "Menu" button on the remote control once to open the main menu.
Step 3
Press the left and right arrow buttons on the remote control to navigate to the "Video" menu tab.
Step 4
Press the "Down" arrow button to highlight "Brightness" from the list of picture settings.
Step 5
Press the "Select" button on the remote to open the brightness settings.
Step 6
Adjust the level of picture brightness by holding the left or right arrow buttons. Moving the bar to the left makes the picture dimmer and moving the bar to the right makes the picture brighter.
Step 7
Press "Menu" when you are done adjusting the brightness to save the settings and exit the menu.
