How to Connect a Smart Board to a MacBook
By Cleveland Van Cecil
Smart Board is interactive software developed for business and education. It interacts with a white board, allowing you to move objects with the wave of a hand or write with an ink-less pencil on the board. The whiteboard uses touch detection. Setting up Smart Board on the Mac takes a few extra steps than it would on a Windows computer and may require an adapter.
Step 1
Uninstall any previous versions of Smart Board software on your computer and install the program from install disks or online.
Step 2
Go to the "Applications" folder and select "Smart Application Update." Double-click the icon and then click the "Update" button.
Step 3
Open the software and go to "Preferences." Select “Allow Exposé, Dashboard and others to use screen."
Step 4
Hook up the Macbook to the Smart Board whiteboard by inserting the mini-dvi to VGA adapter. The system is now ready.
