How to Connect a Toshiba Satellite to a Printer By USB Port
By Dean Lee
Many printers use USB cables to connect to computers. As with many laptops, the Toshiba Satellite can connect to the printer using a USB cable. However, you must install the drivers that are included with the printer in order for the computer and printer to communicate properly. The procedure for installing the drivers and connecting the USB cable to the printer is generally the same for most printers.
Insert the installation CD for the printer into the CD-ROM drive of the computer. An installation wizard should pop up.
Follow the prompts on the installation CD to install the driver to the computer.
Connect the USB cable from the computer to the printer when the installation wizard prompts you. The flat USB connector goes into the computer. The more squarish connector should go into the back or sometimes the side of the printer. The installation wizard will most likely check the connection then print a test page. Once the test page completes, press "Done" or "Finish" to complete the installation.
