How to Connect a Polaroid LCD TV to a Computer (4 Steps)
By Christopher Kennedy
Polaroid LCD TVs are affordable high definition televisions that can fit into any home theater budget. Pairing that with a connection to a desktop or laptop computer gives you many options for a media center powerhouse. Connecting your Polaroid LCD TV to a computer can give you the most out of your high-definition television investment.
Locate either the VGA or DVI port on the back of your computer and Polaroid LCD TV. Some Polaroid TVs come equipped with both VGA and DVI ports. Choose the connection that is available on your desktop or laptop computer.
Plug one end of the selected cable into your computer's available port and the other end into your Polaroid LCD TV.
Switch the TV to the correct input if it doesn't switch to it automatically. If you are using a notebook computer and it doesn't switch automatically, hold the Fn key while pressing F4 to cycle through the display options. Alternatively, you can change these settings in the display properties under your computer's control panel.
Check your computer's resolution settings to ensure you are using optimal settings for your setup.
- When purchasing a VGA cable, select a cable with enough feet to cover the distance from your TV to your computer. Ensure that the cable has enough slack just in case the TV or the computer needs to be moved while still connected.
