Many modern cellular and smartphones come equipped with cameras that rival the quality of digital hand-held cameras. This is great for taking photos on the go, but you may not know that with some of these phones, it's possible to connect them to your computer in order to upload photos to websites or your desktop. If your phone is compatible with your computer, you'll be pleased to find that connecting it is a relatively simple process that doesn't take very much time at all.

Insert one end of the included USB (Universal Serial Bus) cable into the port in the bottom or side of your mobile, and connect the other end to the USB port in your computer. Consult your phone and computer user guide if you are having problems locating the ports.

Turn on both your computer and your mobile and wait for the computer to recognize the mobile phone. Some smartphones, like the BlackBerry, come with compatible computer software. If this is the case with your phone, open the included software program from your PC's desktop.

Open your photo application from your mobile phone. If you are using a computer program, any data on your phone, such as photos, will be visible in the program window and will be ready to be transferred as files to your computer.
