How to Connect the Logitech X-540 to a TV
By James Clark
The Logitech X-540 is a 5.1 surround sound speaker system with a powered subwoofer. Designed primarily for computer use, the X-540 can also be connected directly to any television with a pair of stereo audio outputs using the adapter that comes with the Logitech system. The Logitech subwoofer contains all the connection terminals for the system, including the input jack to receiver audio from a TV. This jack uses a color coded cabaler to match the adapter. Connecting to a TV takes less than five minutes.
Connect the plug on one end of the green audio cable to the green input jack on the Logitech control panel, which is on the back of the subwoofer.
Insert the plug on the other end of the cable into the green jack on the supplied audio adapter.
Connect the white plug on a stereo cable to the adapter jack labeled "L" and insert the red plug into the "R" jack.
Plug the white and red connectors on the other end of the stereo cable into the color-matching audio "out" jacks on the back of the television.
Plug in the subwoofer electrical cord to a wall outlet.
Warnings
- Connect the Logitech unit to the TV before plugging in the subwoofer electrical cord to eliminate risk of a power surge that could harm the equipment.
