How to Connect to Kindle on a Mac
By Andrew McClain
The Kindle, like the Mac, is designed to be easy to use. You do not have to plug the Kindle into your computer; you can access the Amazon store and sync your account through the Kindle itself. However, there are times when you need to manually connect your Kindle to the computer -- usually when you've downloaded an ebook from somewhere other than Amazon, and you want to add the content to your Kindle.
Step 1
Remove the plug from the end of your Kindle's power/USB cord. This exposes the USB plug.
Step 2
Plug the USB cable into an empty port on your Mac. The Kindle icon appears on the desktop.
Step 3
Double-click on the Kindle icon to browse through your Kindle. You can drag content to it from the Finder.
Step 4
Drag the Kindle icon to the Trash can. The Trash can appears as an eject button; drag the icon to the button to unmount the Kindle from your computer.
Step 5
Unplug your Kindle from your Mac.
