How to Connect an iPhone to a PC via Wi-Fi
By Avery Martin
Using iTunes, you can sync your iPhone wirelessly to your PC. Once you have set up iTunes' Wi-Fi sync, you no longer need to connect your iPhone directly to your computer to sync photos, apps, documents and other data. Your iPhone and PC must meet certain conditions before it can sync wirelessly. The iPhone must be plugged in to a power source, the computer must be turned on and iTunes must be open on your PC.
Wi-Fi Sync Setup
Step 1
Connect your iPhone to your PC with the USB cable that came with the device.
Step 2
Launch iTunes by clicking the Windows "Start" button, typing iTunes in the Search field and pressing "Enter." However, iTunes may launch automatically when your iPhone is detected.
Step 3
Click on your iPhone in the Devices section in the left pane.
Step 4
Click on the "Summary" tab and select "Sync With This iOS Device Over Wi-Fi."
Step 5
Disconnect your iPhone.
Step 6
Connect your iPhone to a power source and make sure iTunes is open on your PC. You can also select your iPhone in the Devices section of iTunes and click the "Sync" button. On your iPhone, tap "Settings," select "General" and choose "iTunes Wi-Fi Sync." Tap "Sync Now."

Tips
- Wireless syncing isn't as fast as syncing directly with a USB cable. To add large amounts of content, connecting the iPhone directly to your computer is the fastest method.
