How to Connect a Converter Box to a TV
By Ann Mapleridge
Since the digital conversion in the United States, analog televisions require a built-in digital tuner or an external digital converter box in order to be used to watch over-the-air television. If you have an analog television, you can purchase a digital converter box for your set from most electronics stores and hook it up to your television in just a few minutes.
Step 1
Connect one end of a coaxial cable to your rabbit ears or other antenna you were previously using for a television signal.
Step 2
Plug the other end of the coaxial cable connected to your antenna into the back of your converter box in the port labeled "Cable In."
Step 3
Plug the second coaxial cable into the back of your television.
Step 4
Connect the other end of the second coaxial cable into the back of your converter box into the port labeled "Cable Out."
Step 5
Plug your converter box into an electrical outlet for power, and begin watching your television with a new digital signal.
