How to Configure a Westell 327W Modem

Westell 327W came out in 2005 and is still in use today as a simple and powerful DSL modem. Not only is the Westell 327W a wireless modem, it is also a wired modem that has 4 Ethernet jacks for different computers or other devices. If you want to configure a Westell 327W with a computer it is quite simple as long as you have DSL Internet.
Step 1
Plug the Westell 327W into a power source and plug the phone line into a phone jack and into the modem. Wait until all of the lights on the modem are green.
Step 2
Plug the Ethernet cable into your computer, for a wired connection. For a wireless connection, put up the Westell 327W Modem’s antenna.
Step 3
Select the Westell 327W Modem from the list of available Wi-Fi connections on your computer, if you are connecting wirelessly.
Step 4
Open the web browser on your computer and type in “launchmodem” or “192.168.1.254” into the address bar and press “Go.”
Step 5
Type in your user name and password. Press “Connect.”

- You may need to upgrade the Westell 327W modem’s firmware if you have a new computer.
Warnings
- The Westell 327W modem only works with DSL Internet connections. It does not work with cable Internet connections.
