If you have organized your Facebook friends into lists, it's easy to send a mass email to a given group of friends. Whether you want to invite family to an upcoming event, or remind friends of a night out, choosing the right list to send the message is important. A benefit of using Facebook is the ability to email friends en masse without dealing with email addresses.

Step 1

Click "Messages," which is found under your profile picture on the Facebook homepage.

Step 2

Click "New Message" in the top right-hand corner. Type the name of the list in the "To" field. If you haven't created a list yet, exit the message and navigate to "Friends." Choose "Edit Friends" and "Create List." Click on the profile pictures of the friends who you'd like to be in that list. Save the list with an easy-to-remember name, like "Family" or "School Friends." Navigate back to the Messages screen.

Step 3

Type your message into the "Message" field. You cannot edit friends out of lists in the Messages interface. Should you want to remove one or two people from your addressee list, you'll need to do so using the Friends interface.

Step 4

Click "Send."
