How to Check the Security of My PC
By Damarious Page
Personal computer security is maintained from many angles, and it is daunting for end-users to stay on top of it all. An antivirus program checks for viruses and Trojans, firewalls block hackers and antispyware programs block keyloggers and sniffers. However, many modern software developers offer all of this security in one "suite," making security program management, manageable. If you worry about the overall security of your PC, Microsoft has included a tool in Windows 7 called "Action Center," that will check the system and offer fixes.
Click on the Windows orb logo at the bottom of the desktop to show the Start menu. Click on the "Control Panel" from the menu to open a window.
Click on "Review your computer's status" under the "System and Security" section. Wait while the Windows operating system assesses the security on the PC.
Click the down arrow next to the "Security" section in the middle of the window. Read the warnings and alerts. Follow the instructions if Windows offers a fix or solution.
