How to Check If an Asus Motherboard Is Still Under Warranty?

When you purchase an Asus computer, your machine is completely under manufacturer's warranty for an extended period of time. This warranty covers all parts inside the computer, including the motherboard. If something goes wrong with your unit and it's still under warranty, you can have your motherboard replaced at no cost to you. If you want to find out whether your Asus motherboard is still under warranty, you'll need to know when you purchased your unit.

Step 1

Find out the exact date at which you purchased your Asus computer. You can find this out by checking on the receipt you were given at the time of purchase. If you cannot find your receipt, oftentimes you can get a copy printed out by returning to the store where you originally purchased the unit. You can also check credit card or bank account statements (depending on how you paid) and find this information out as well.

Step 2

Locate the "Manufacturer's Warranty" pamphlet that came with your Asus computer. This pamphlet will have come packaged in the box with the computer, instruction manual and accessories. This pamphlet will detail exactly how long your Asus computer is under warranty for. Typically these things are under warranty for a year or more, but it really varies depending on the unit.

Step 3

Use the date you purchased your Asus computer as a guide to find out whether the motherboard is still under warranty. For example, if your manufacturer's warranty is for a year and you purchased your Asus computer less than a year ago, your motherboard is still covered by the manufacturer's warranty. Also take into consideration any extended warranties you purchased with your computer from the business you bought it from. This information will also be listed on your original purchase receipt.
