How to Check the History of Your Clipboard

by Philip Sim

The clipboard is a temporary storage area on your computer for text and other items. It is most commonly used for copying data from one area and pasting it into another. When you right-click on a file or a highlighted piece of text and select "Copy," it is stored on the clipboard -- but only one thing can be stored at once. There is no memory function for items previously stored on the clipboard, but a number of free programs are available online which can perform this function.

Download a clipboard history program such as Clipdiary.

Install Clipdiary on your computer and it will automatically start logging data placed on the clipboard.

Double-click on the Clipdiary logo on the taskbar to view your clipboard history.

Alternatively hold the Control key and press D to bring up Clipdiary and your clipboard history.
