Factors will cause this speed to vary and may be influenced by your location, modem and Internet connections inside your home. If you are concerned with a possible lag in your Internet signal speed, you can use one of many online services to determine your signal strength, and take your concerns to Cox if you believe it should be faster.

Tip

  • Average residential users can expect between 5 Mbps (megabytes per second) and 10.5 Mbps for download speeds. If your connection falls below this range, contact your service provider to determine the cause.
