How to Chat on TinyChat
By Louise Lawson
Tired of talking to the same old, boring friends? Try an online chat service such as Tinychat. Tinychat allows users to create profiles, open virtual chat rooms and engage in live video chat with people around the globe. Tinychat’s easy-to-use interface makes setting up your own chat room a breeze, and you can make new friends and build lasting relationships with a few clicks of your mouse.
Step 1
Visit the Tinychat start page (http://tinychat.com/start/) and create a profile. Enter a username and password you will remember, and type your email address in the appropriate slot. Click the box to agree to the terms of use, and click the green “Yes” button to create your Tinychat account.
Step 2
Click on the green box in the upper left-hand corner with your username, and scroll down to "Settings." Fill in a display name, biography and description of yourself in the boxes. If you want to upload a photo, click on “Browse,” select the correct photo and hit the "Update" button at the bottom of the screen.
Step 3
Select the “Design” button to the right of your profile, and customize the color, style and theme of your chat area. Hit the “Privacy” button to adjust the settings for your chat room. This allows comments on your chat room and lets you select whether you want to allow everyone on Tinychat to use your chat room, or whether you want to restrict it to invited friends.
Step 4
Turn on your webcam, and click on the “Chat With Your Friends!” button to create a new chat room. Name your room, and hit the "Chat" button. If you want to join an existing chat room, scroll down until you find a room you want to join, click on the room, and start chatting with Tinychat.
Tips
- Tinychat has a strict policy on acceptable chat behavior, so read the rules and guidelines carefully.
