How to Charge a DS With a USB
By James Melzer
The DS is a portable gaming console created by Nintendo. It runs on an internal battery that needs to be charged when it is low on power. You can charge it with the USB cable it came with that plugs into any wall outlet, or you can purchase a USB charger cable that will charge the Nintendo DS from any computer. This is a straightforward procedure, but it will take some time to complete depending on how much battery power is left.
Step 1
Plug the USB end of the USB charger cable into the computer. Plug the other end into the USB port on the Nintendo DS. The orange indicator light on the console will come on, indicating that the unit is charging.
Step 2
Wait three to four hours for the Nintendo DS to fully charge. The orange indicator light will go off.
Step 3
Unplug the USB charger cable from the Nintendo DS. Unplug the other end from the computer. Store the USB charger cable away from later use.
Tips
- Purchase a USB charger cable online or from an electronics store that sells the Nintendo DS unit.
