How to Change the Timeout on Password Protection

by Damarious Page

The Windows screen saver password protection can be an annoyance when you have to enter your password every time your screen saver comes on. If you use Windows 7, you can adjust the timer on the screen saver to save yourself the hassle of repeatedly logging in.

Open the "Control Panel" from the "Start" menu. Type "screen saver" in the search box at the bottom of the menu. Press "Enter" to open a dialog box.

Click the up or down arrow next to "Wait" to change the number of minutes that pass before Windows goes into screen saver mode.

Click "Apply" and "OK" to save the changes and close the dialog box.
