Your Kindle Fire automatically keeps track of time though its Wi-Fi connection. However, when you travel, the tablet has no way of knowing when you enter a new time zone. The only way to change the time on a newer Kindle Fire is to change the time zone setting to match your current location. The first-generation Kindle Fire also allows you to adjust the time manually.

Newer Models

Step 1

Swipe down from the top of the screen to open the Quick Settings menu on your Kindle Fire HD or second-generation Kindle Fire.

Step 2

Tap "More" to view additional options, and then tap "Device."

Step 3

Tap "Date & Time" to view the current settings.

Step 4

Tap "Select Time Zone," and then select the correct time zone.

Step 5

Tap the "On" button next to "Use 24-hour Format" if you want to use military time, or tap the "Off" button to use the regular AM/PM format.
