Kyocera manufactures a line of GSM cell phones powered by Qualcomm processors, and the SIM cards in these phones are used to store each user's phone number and contact information. An understanding of how to locate the phone's SIM card, as well as how to remove and install a new SIM card, is helpful if you are changing to a new carrier or adding a SIM card for the first time.

Step 1

Remove the battery from your phone. A battery release button should be on the back of your device; if not, the battery cover will simply slide off when pressure is applied in a downward or upward motion.

Step 2

Locate the SIM card, which will be found at the bottom of the phone underneath the battery.

Step 3

Examine the SIM card diagram embedded on the phone; it will show you how to remove the card. Typically you will just slide the card out of place. You can also consult your user's manual. If you do not have the manual, the Kyocera support webpage can provide a digital copy.

Step 4

Slide your new SIM card into place. Push the card gently until the full card is nestled inside the SIM card slot. You may have to lift a small metal holder on some phones to place the card into the slot.

Step 5

Replace the phone's battery and battery cover. Turn on your phone and wait 15 to 20 seconds for signal strength to appear. If a signal is found, your card is properly installed.
