How to Change Font Size on Google Chrome Pagesby Catherine Flanagan ; Updated January 09, 2017
Google Chrome enables you to change the minimum font size for web pages you view using the browser. Because font size can vary from website to website, as you browse you may find that some fonts are too small for your resolution. You can change the font size several different ways, some of which only affect the current page you are viewing and others that set a standard font for all websites you view. Just know that if you change the font size for a website, the layout of the page might change.
Zoom in or out on Your Current Tab
If you want to change the font size on the website you are currently viewing, you can simply zoom. To zoom in or out, open your Google Chrome browser, click on the three vertical dots in the top right corner and click on the plus sign to zoom in on the page. Conversely, click the minus sign to make the page you’re viewing zoom out.
You can also use the keyboard shortcuts to zoom in or out. On a PC, simply press the "Control Key" (Ctrl) and the "Plus Sign" (+) to zoom in and the "Control Key" (Ctrl) and the "Minus Sign" (-) to zoom out. On a Mac, press the "Command Key" (⌘) and the "Plus Sign" (+) to zoom in and the "Command Key" (⌘) and the Minus Sign" (-) to zoom out.
Change the Font for Most Websites
If you want to change the font size for most of the websites you visit, you can change the settings of your Google Chrome browser to accommodate. Simply open your browser, click on the three vertical dots on the top right corner and click on “Settings.” Scroll down to the bottom and click on “Show Advanced Settings.” Under “Web Content,” you can customize the set font size, page zoom and font. Note that though most of the websites you visit will appear in your set font size, page zoom and font settings, Google Chrome might not be able to adjust all websites.
- You can zoom in on a Web page by pressing the "Ctrl" and "+" keys at the same time, or zoom out by pressing "Ctrl" and the hyphen key at the same time. To return to the default zoom level, press "Ctrl-0".
