How to Change the Date of Birth on Xbox Live
By Steve Lander
When you set up your Xbox, Microsoft requires you to enter your date of birth for your Xbox Live account. Your Xbox Live account does more than just control your Xbox's online features, though. It's fully integrated with many different Microsoft services underneath the Live.com umbrella. As such, you can log in to Live.com from your computer and make changes to the overall account that will translate to your Xbox. Changing your date of birth online is a simple process.
Log in to your Live.com account (link in Resources) with your username and password and click the "Sign In" button.
Click your name in the upper right corner of the screen and then click "Account Settings" in the drop-down menu.
Click "Edit personal info" under your birth date.
Change your birth date to whatever is correct by selecting new options from the pull down menus for month, day and year. Click the "Save" button when you are done.
- If you change your birthdate and make your calculated age less than 18, your Xbox Live account will turn into a child account with limited access and rights.
