How to Capture a Netflix Stream
By Brian Massey
Netflix offers the free streaming of movies and television shows to subscribers, but you may only view video streams live and cannot download them. Sometimes it's nice to hold on to a video so you don't need to return and stream it again. Capturing them can be done with special software.
Download and install Streaming Video Capture. Navigate to your Netflix stream. The software should automatically detect the stream and open the download interface. Press the red "Record" button to capture the stream. If the program does not automatically detect the stream, copy the URL of the video and paste it into the box of the program. The video download will automatically begin.
Copy the URL of the Netflix video stream you wish to record. Download Web Stream Recorder and install it. Open the application's interface and click the "Add URL" button to paste the URL you collected into the program for download. The window can be minimized to an icon as it downloads.
Install Replay Media Catcher and open it. Change the conversion settings to your personal preferences or to match the device you want to watch the video on. Press the large red button in the bottom left-hand corner of the program's interface to begin recording the Netflix video. Monitor the completion status and preview the video you're downloading before it finishes.
