I Can't Remember the Email Address I Used for MySpace
By Adrian Grahams
The email address that you used to sign up for MySpace doubles as your account login user ID, so you won't be able to sign in to MySpace if you've forgotten this email address. If you believe you can still access the original email account, use the MySpace "Forgot Login" tool to reset your MySpace login credentials. If you used a long-forgotten disposable email address to sign up for MySpace, or you no longer have access to the original email account, fill in the MySpace online Declaration of Ownership form to reset your login information.
"Forgot Login" Procedure
Step 1
Go to the MySpace "Forgot Login" page in your Web browser (see link in Resources).
Step 2
Click to select the "MySpace URL" radio button in the top half of the form. Enter the last part of your MySpace Web address in the field immediately after "myspace.com/".
Step 3
Type the letters and numbers from the security CAPTCHA code in the applicable field.
Step 4
Click the blue "Send" button at the bottom of the form. MySpace will send an email message with reset instructions to the email address that you originally used to sign up for the account and all alternative email addresses that you have registered with MySpace. When you receive the email, click on the link to verify the account and follow the instructions to reset your MySpace password.
Declaration of Ownership
Step 1
Go to the MySpace "Declaration of Ownership" form page (link in Resources).
Step 2
Complete all the required entry fields marked with a red asterisk. These include your legal name, name as listed on your account, address, date of birth, current email address, MySpace account URL address and electronic signature (just type your name in this field).
Step 3
Select "Regain Account Access" from the "Declaration Purpose" drop-down menu.
Step 4
Click the "Print" button to print out the form if you're under 18 years old. Sign the form and get your parent or guardian to sign the form in the spaces provided. You will then need to scan the form and add it as an attachment by clicking the "Choose File" button and uploading the scanned document from your computer. Skip this step if you're 18 or over.
Step 5
Click the blue "Send" button to submit the completed form. MySpace will contact you at the new email address you provided.
Tips
- MySpace says it responds to all Declaration of Ownership forms as soon as possible in the order received. Sending multiple requests can slow down the process, so only submit the form once and wait for the confirmation email from MySpace.
