How to Cancel a Subscription With eMusic
By Christina Martinez
EMusic is an online music and book subscription service. The service allows users to download music and digital books in an MP3 format to their computers for a fee. EMusic's catalog grows daily and ranges from country to bluegrass, oldies to house music. Editors at the company pick albums that are their favorites, called "Picks" and users are able to comment on their favorite albums. You can choose from several subscription options that take place monthly, quarterly, bi-annually and annually.
Log in to the eMusic Web site. Click on the "Login" option in the top right hand corner of the page. A new page will come up. Put in the username and password of the account you want to cancel and hit "Submit."
Click on the "Your Account" option in the upper right hand corner, under the "Search All Music" bar. It will bring you to an overview of you account including your music balance, your payment method and when your subscription refreshes.
Scroll your mouse to the left hand side of the page. Under the heading "Change Plan," click "Request To Cancel." Another page will come up asking you if you really want to cancel the subscription.
Click the box next to the subscription you want to cancel then click the green button in the bottom right hand corner that says "Continue to Cancel." This will cancel your subscription to eMusic. You will lose any balance you had remaining and any items that you may have saved. You will be able to log in still to your account but won't be able to download music until you re-subscribe.
