Can You Refresh Multiple Tabs All at Once Using Google Chrome?
By C. Taylor
Google Chrome doesn't have a single-click method of refreshing multiple tabs simultaneously; however, you do have some workaround options for accomplishing this. Chrome can save opened tabs and restore refreshed versions of them when you restart the browser. This method only works for a single window, but forcing a crash expands this capability to multiple windows. You can also bookmark multiple pages to reopen them all at once. This option offers you the ability to reload them on subsequent Chrome sessions, even if the tabs aren't already opened.
Save Tabs
Step 1
Click the icon marked with three short horizontal bars, located at the top-right of the browser, and then select "Settings."
Step 2
Click "Continue Where I Left Off" in the On Start-Up section.
Step 3
Close the "Settings" tab to save your settings.
Step 4
Click and drag tabs to arrange them in a single window.
Step 5
Restart the browser. When the browser re-opens, all tabs will refresh.
Force Refresh of Multiple Windows
Step 1
Press "Ctrl-Alt-Esc" to open Windows Task Manager.
Step 2
Click "Google Chrome" from the list of processes, and then click "End Task." In Windows 7 or when viewing Windows 8 Task Manager with more details, this list resides on the Processes tab.
Step 3
Open Google Chrome again, and then click "Restore" on the top warning bar. All previously opened windows and tabs reload.
Bookmarks
Step 1
Hold the "Ctrl" key and click multiple tabs to select them.
Step 2
Click and drag any selected tab down and away from the tab bar. When you release your mouse button, they appear in a new window.
Step 3
Right-click any selected tab and select "Bookmark All Tabs."
Step 4
Type a name in the New Folder field, and then click "Save."
Step 5
Right-click any selected tab and select "Close Tabs." Alternatively, press "Ctrl-W." You can also close the current window, which currently houses only selected tabs.
Step 6
Click the "Settings" drop-down menu and select "Bookmarks."
Step 7
Right-click the name of the newly created folder and click "Open All Bookmarks" to reload each bookmark. In the future, you only need to perform this step to reload all the previously selected tabs.
