How Can I Re-Download Microsoft Word?
By John Mitchell
If you accidentally deleted your Microsoft Word installation or had a computer hard drive crash, then you can re-download the program from the Microsoft Office Download Center. On the download page, you will need to enter the product key you were originally given when you purchased the software. If you do not have the product key, then you will need to contact Microsoft to obtain a replacement key.
Step 1
Go to "Microsoft.com/office/downloads" to access the Microsoft Office Download Center.
Step 2
Click the "Select" button for the Microsoft Office version for which you have the product key.
Step 3
Enter the 25-character product key and select your language. On the last part, type the six-character verification code from the image on the right. Click the "Submit" button to go to the download page.
Step 4
Click the "Download" button if the download doesn't start automatically after a few seconds. Once you have successfully downloaded the software to your computer, run the installation program.
Step 5
Launch Microsoft Word from your computer and enter the 25-character product key again when prompted. When the software is authenticated, you can begin creating Word documents again.
